In the end of the 20th century I started Erasmus Classic-CD.com  presented its first CD. After some re-issues of successful gramophone records the label developed a collection of new top

quality recordings made with the finest new techniques. The first Erasmus  Classic-CD disc presented a splendid recording of Saint-Saëns’ Carnival of the Animals, recorded in the original score This musical parade was continued with colourful, characteristic, often rare repertoire recordings. Erasmus Classic-CD productions concentrates on excellent and attractive, but often less known repertoire. For instance little known works by the famous classic composers. Several works were recorded which had never been presented on disc before, such as sonatas by Count Unico van Wassenaer and piano pieces by the Russian novelist Boris Pasternak. Erasmus Classic-CD also regularly presents young performing artists and composers at the beginning of their career. There are some links with the Netherlands and its impressive music culture. Several discs present professors and students of Dutch Conservatory and chamber music ensembles from the illustrious Dutch orchestras The recordings were made in famous Dutch concert halls or acoustic good (and beautiful) churches. After all Erasmus Classic-CD  is based in Holland.Erasmus Classic-CD does not concentrate on repertoire from particular periods in music history. It presents historical and contemporary music. The catalogue offers choral music from the European Renaissance, and from the East-European tradition. There are contemporary piano works by Simeon ten Holt and early vocal music from the 11th century. There are recordings of  contemporary clavecimbel music, traditional English church music, saxophone quartets, and carillon music. Palestrina, Satie, Bach, Matiegka and Viadana are all present in the collection. A selection: Valery Gavrilin “Perezwony” a miracle play symphony, for choir soloist oboe and percussion. Dutch 17th century music with Ton Koopman, songs from the nazi concentration camp of Terezin (Theresien-stadt), sung by Ruth Frenk, Chopin nocturnes in the original score (not the paderevski edition), etc. So Erasmus Classic-CD offers a broad selection from the music repertoire at a fixed and remarkably low price. But also you will find a selection of the most recommended CD’s of other record labels.
